Pentosin is looking back to a long history. In 1927 Heinrich Freudenthal founded the company, which was initially family owned. This was 80 years ago. By veterinary / medical quality products Deutsche Pentosin-Werke was well known in 1935 already and gained such a high reputation that licencees in the Czech Republic, Austria, Italy and Switzerland manu- factured Pentosin products. Heinrich Freudenthal recognized the importance of the growing automotive industry. Thus he lay the foundation for R&D of brake fluids and lubricants. This was the initial phase when automotive manufacturers started issuing product approvals. A lot of Pentosin products were approved for factory fill and aftermarket, and on this basis sales turned out successfully. Right from the start Mr. Freudenthal combined Quality with the Pentosin Brand. This has always been and will be the guarantee for our evergreen company philosophy: Quality and Continuity is what Pentosin stands for - in the past – at present – in future.
    Quality and reliability - the key to success – no matter what the relevant economic situation is. Always familiar with the know-how of today and tomorrow as well as ‚with the ear at the customer’, Pentosin re-started in the sixties with great success. The extended variety of products and the continuously growing volumes required additional capacities. Therefore the construction of the Dormagen blending plant was started in 1960. Furthermore the original Hamburg plant moved to larger premises at Wedel, near Hamburg, in 1972. Wedel, also situated at the river Elbe, is just a stonethrow away from the world metropolis Hamburg. Here is not only the Hamburg Port, you are also at the gateway to the most important European Aircraft Construction Organization, you feel the ‚hanseatic art of life’ in the always fresh and often strong winds coming in from the Northsea. This is also the place of Pentosin’s headoffice, our R&D and a top modern and efficient blending plant.
